Florence W. Busching was born on March 31, 1913 to J. Henry and Rosa (Becker) Busching at Barney, ND. She grew up on a farm near Barney. She graduated from Wyndmere High School and then attended North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton. On June 18, 1935, she was united in marriage to A.H. "Bud" Berg at Wyndmere. For six years they ran the Barney Café until they moved to the family farm near Barney where they spent most of their married life. After Bud's death in 1990, Florence moved to Riverview Place at Fargo, ND where she lived for eighteen years. In August of 2010, she became a resident of Sheyenne Crossings at West Fargo, ND where she lived to the present day.
Florence was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in the LWML and quilt making. She was also a 4-H Leader for several years.
Florence was a gardener and especially enjoyed her flower beds and was a member of the Wyndmere Garden Club. She was a wonderful cook, known for the caramel rolls and pies she would bake among other items.
Florence and Bud enjoyed taking many trips after their retirement. Memorable trips were made to Mexico, Hawaii, Norway, and Germany. The most special trips where those made to visit their children and grandchildren around the country.
Florence is survived by her children, John (Donna) Berg, Columbia, MO, Patricia Sebens (Dennis) Freese, Brandon, MN, Kathleen (John) Johnson, Langdon, ND, Mary Mastascusa (Doyle Carroll), Frisco, TX, Carolyn (Charles) Schulz, Ridgefield, CT, and Lori (Myron) Keller, Barney, ND; her fifteen grandchildren; and her 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Henry and Rosa Busching, her husband, Bud; her sister, Dorothy; a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Berg, and a son-in-law, Marvin Sebens.
