Wayne R. Krause, 57, East Grand Forks, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 18, 4:00 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, with Rev. Burt Benson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.
Wayne R. Krause was born September 27, 1950 at Wahpeton, ND, the son of Elmer J. and Frances (Gira) Krause. Wayne entered Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, Wisconsin in 1961, where he resided until 1992. He moved to East Grand Forks, MN where he worked for the DAC in East Grand Forks and resided at East Grand Forks Group Home. He received excellent care at the group home where he took meticulous care of the flower garden. The staff became like family to Wayne accompanying him to visit his biological family for Holidays and family get- togethers.
Wayne enjoyed music and especially Elvis Presley movies and songs. He loved to fish and took a great interest in animals.
Wayne is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Carolyn Woizeschke and Joyce Barton-Toth, both of Nashua, MN; Margie Krause, North Liberty, Iowa; Ronald (Betty) Krause, Billings, MT; and David Krause, Breckenridge, MN and many nieces and nephews and his special family from East Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Frances Krause; three brothers: Dennis, Kenneth and Harold.
