Vernice DeVries

September 25, 1934 — December 9, 2017

Vernice DeVries lived a life of never ending love, grace, and courage. Her strength was an inspiration to everyone that she touched. Being an incredibly hard worker, she loved others with her heart, hands, and feet, constantly giving to anyone she could. Unfortunately, in her later years she faced decades of pain as her body deteriorated from rheumatoid arthritis. She was never discouraged, even while in the nursing home, in pain, unable to walk, and barely able to use her hands, she continued to love and care for others with her encouragement, grace, and humor. In the middle of all her struggles, even to the end, when asked how she was doing, she would say, "I am good!", and she was very right. Yes, Vernie DeVries was good, very, very good.  If you knew her, you knew you had been blessed.
