Todd Heitkamp

Todd “Lenny” Heitkamp, 64, of Barney, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Gerard’s Nursing Home, Hankinson, ND. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Wyndmere, ND, with Father Terry Dodge officiating. His funeral mass will be at 10:30 with visitation at 9:30. Knights of Columbus will lead rosary at 10:00. The burial will be at a later date.

Todd was born May 1, 1960, in Breckenridge, MN, to Arnold and Melba (Nagel) Heitkamp. He attended school in Wyndmere, ND and graduated in 1978. While attending school, Todd participated in football, softball, basketball and track. After high school, Todd attended NDSU in Fargo and graduated with a degree in Ag Economics. He then returned to Barney and farmed with his dad and his brother, Doug. 

Todd was an avid golfer, enjoyed ice fishing and collecting sports cards. Todd was a very competitive person whether it was cards or any board game.

Todd is survived by his mother, Melba of Mesa, AZ, his brother Jeff of Fort Worth, TX, Paul (Mary Lou) of Wyndmere, Doug (Debby) of Barney, his sister Beth (Scott) Madson of Gilbert, AZ, and Chris of Mesa, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father Arnold, his sister-in-law Martha Heitkamp, and his niece Emily Heitkamp.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at St. Gerard’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Todd during his stay.
