Stephen Held

Stephen was born September 19, 1933, at Selz, ND, the son of Karl and Katie (Fuhrman) Held. He lived at Grafton, ND until 1942 to 1985, when he moved to Wahpeton and received services through the Red River Human services Foundation.

Stephen attended St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. Stephen was active in the Special Olympics and over the years participated in basketball, track and field, bowling and bocce ball. He enjoyed visiting with family at the lakes near Osage, MN and out west in Oregon and Washington. At his residence in Wahpeton he was known to be very helpful with the staff and residents.

Stephen is survived by eight brothers and sisters: Theresa Kunkel, Vancouver, WA; Eugene Held, Wahpeton; Bernadine (Bill) Meredith, Summerville, SC; George (Sheila) Held, Vancouver, WA; Shirley Smith, Dallas, OR; Angie (Richard) Fontana, Portland, OR; Julia (Willis Mattison) Held, Osage, MN; Janet (Ed) Heering-Larkin, Fulton, MS;

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, MaryAnn Held.
