Sophie Boutiette

Sophie Boutiette, 103, Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Abercrombie , ND , died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at St. Catherine’s Living Center , Wahpeton. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 21 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church , Abercrombie with Rev. Ken Kirchenwitz officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.

Sophie Boutiette was born January 17, 1906, in Abercrombie to Ole J. and Ida Oleson (Vik) Hestdalen. She married Elmer J. Boutiette on April 4, 1929, in Kent , MN . Sophie was a homemaker. Her husband, Elmer, died September 19, 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Annette Erickson, Warrensburg, MO; her son, Darwin (Mary) Boutiette, Minnetonka, MN; 4 grandchildren, Lance (Lisa) Erickson and Gail (Shawn) Morton both of Lee's Summit, MO, Damien Boutiette, Minnetonka, MN, and Andraea Boutiette, Washington, DC; 6 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Erickson, Blake and Elizabeth Wrisinger, Dustin and Christopher Morton; her sister, Olga Egger, Breckenridge, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Sophie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; 6 half-brothers; 3 half-sisters; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church , Abercrombie or St. Catherine’s Living Center , Wahpeton.
