Sandra Hubrig

Sandra Hubrig, 70, of Rural Great Bend, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Her memorial service will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour before the service, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton.

Sandy was born on September 9, 1954, in Hankinson, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Luverne and Carol (Breden) Schmidt. She graduated from Hankinson High School, and soon after married Curt Hubrig on September 28, 1974. Together they moved to a farm in rural Great Bend, where they raised their two sons, Todd and Brad. 

Sandy's devotion to her family was evident in everything she did, and she took immense pride in the time spent with her granddaughter, Harmony. Their visits were cherished moments that illuminated Sandy's life.

Throughout her life, Sandy exhibited a kind and gentle spirit, often seen sharing her smile and charm with everyone she encountered. She had a special love for her cats and dogs and found simple pleasures in gardening, and going to rummage sales. Sandy loved attending family gatherings and reunions at Jeff and Ruth's, always seen with her camera, eager to preserve memories with her loved ones.

Sandy is survived by husband of 50 plus years, Curt; sons, Todd (Rhonda); Brad, and his daughter, Harmony and her mother, Ashleigh Jorschumb; sisters, Susan Schultz and Nancy (Lynn) Hanson; brothers, Stanley (Pat) Schmidt, Larry (Janella) Schmidt, and Jeff (Ruth) Schmidt; sister-in-law, Barb Breden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luverne and Carol Schmidt; brother, Steven Breden; brother-in-law, Chuck Schultz; and many other relatives. 

 Sandy will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
