Rosella Vigen

Rosella "Sally" Vigen, 76, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge, Minnesota. The Funeral Service will be Friday, January 31, 11:00 a.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Sally was born February 21, 1937, near Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Nickoli and Agnes (Halvorson) Wick. She attended rural school, District 80. Sally was united in marriage to Donald W. Vigen on March 5, 1955 in Fergus Falls. The couple lived in Fergus Falls until 1957 when they moved to Wahpeton, ND. Sally worked at Dutchman's Bakery and the National Tea in Wahpeton. She later worked at Imation until her retirement. Donald passed away June 20, 1999, Sally continued to reside in Wahpeton occasionally serving "sample products" at Econofoods and doing volunteer work at St. Francis in Breckenridge.

Sally was a people person and she enjoyed the many visits with friends and family whether that be at Jewett Lake where the family once had a cabin, in recent years at Long Lake or at her home in Wahpeton. Sally had a special way of making each person feel important and loved.

Sally is survived by her four children: Brad (Jan) Vigen, Princeton, MN; Brian (Carole) Vigen, Wahpeton; Randy (Theresa Graves) Vigen, Wahpeton; Linda (Dave) Kocher, Wahpeton; seven grandchildren: Katie Vigen, Laura (Luke) Karels, Mallory (Mark) Olson, Jennifer Vigen, Gina Vigen, Trisha Thompson, Molly Thompson; two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Ellie Karels. Step grandchildren and great grandchildren Maggie (Daniel) Emma, Lydia, Isaac, Sophia and Allison Holliday. Her sister Faye Meyer, Fergus Falls, MN; and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her little four legged sidekick, Otis.
Sally is preceded in death by her brother, Morris, parents and her husband Donald.
