Rose Halvorson
December 1, 1914 — September 4, 2009
Rose Anna Halvorson (94) of Fargo, ND, formerly Wahpeton, ND died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009,
at the Palliative Care Unit, Meritcare South Campus, Fargo.
Rose Halvorson (Gagelin) was born Dec. 1, 1914 in Moritz, SD to Albert & Marie Gagelin.
Rose grew up in Barney, ND the oldest of ten children.
She was employed by Johnson’s General Store in Wyndmere, ND and was later appointed Postmaster in Barney.
On June 17, 1950, she married Dr. DeLos Halvorson, and they lived in Hankinson, ND.
The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1960, where she was a homemaker and he practiced dentistry until 1975.
After retirement they lived at Blanche Lake, MN and Mesa, AZ.
For the past ten years, Rose lived at the Waterford, Fargo, and
Edgewood Vista, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, her husband and her daughter, Krista Rensvold.
She is survived by her son David (Val) Halvorson; her grandsons Erik (Amber) Swenson and Matt Halvorson, all of Fargo, Michael (Misty) Rensvold, Breckenridge, MN, and granddaughter Marcia (Mark) Jodock, Barnesville, MN, 4 great-grandchildren, and brothers Walter (Verdell) Gagelin,
West Fargo, ND, Daniel (Virginia) Gagelin, Kansas City,
Richard (Kathy) Gagelin, Penn Valley, CA, and sisters; Margaret (Harlan) Johnson, Minneapolis, and Esther Harris, San Clemente,
CA.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church,

Visitation will held Monday, Sept. 7, from to 5:00-7:00 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel, 920 3
rd
Ave. N, Wahpeton.
Visitation also at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
