Roger Freitag

Roger Stuart Freitag, 74, of Fairmount, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 5, 2024, in Fargo, ND with his brother by his side. His Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Vertin Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, at 11 AM. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service. Colette Barton will officiate. 

Roger was born on July 10, 1950, in Breckenridge, MN to Donald and Lola (Rogers) Freitag. On February 8, 1974, he wed Colleen Adams. Their union welcomed their daughter Jessica, followed by a son Lucas two years later. 

On August 14, 1998, Roger was wed to Sharon Bernard-Lehman, his wife of 26 wonderful years. Roger and Sharon enjoyed spending their time on bike runs, yard work and gardening together. Roger was Lead Maintenance Manager at Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge, MN for the past 17 years. He was known by his family and friends for his love of tinkering, ZZ Top and his motorcycle. Roger also loved being a grandfather, spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. 

Roger was known for his kind heart and could make anyone smile. Roger was a loving son, brother, father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend. Roger was loved by so many and brought so much light to those around him. 

He was survived by his wife Sharon Freitag; Daughter Jessica (Garrett) Freitag, son Lucas Freitag; grandchildren Cassandra, Cashton, Princeton and Kaeson, great grandchildren Hendrix, Lyla and Ryland; brother Rick (Nancy) Freitag; sisters Cheryle Haley and Sheila Massengale; step-sons Brad (Karen) Lehmann, Kelly (April) Lehmann, Chris Lehmann; step grandchildren Kolden, Abby (Evan), Bailey (Crystal), Brandon, Jase, Josi and Graci; step great grandchildren Wyatt, Kam, Waylon; In-laws Larry "Duffer" (Kris) Bernard, Sandy Bernard, Lois Leinen, Steve (Emmy) Bernard, Tina Bernard, Monica (Kip) Olson, Randy (Annie) Bernard, Renae (Wayne) Machaledt, Ray (Peggy) Bernard, Jane Matejcek, mother-in-law Esther Bernard and many nieces and nephews. 

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Lola Freitag; father-in-law Dennis Bernard; brothers-in-law Pat Haley, Charles Massengale, Rick Bernard, Alan Bernard and sister-in-law Diane Anderson.

He will always be remembered by the gift that was his life.
