Robert Anthony Matejcek was born on May 18, 1956, in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Wilbur and Marian (Schirmers) Matejcek of Wahpeton, North Dakota. He attended grade school through 8th grade at St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1974. He married Cynthia Krump at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton on May 20, 1977. To this union was born two daughters, Mandy and Kari.
After high school, Bob was employed by Larry Miller Farms, Pausch Farms, Wil-Rich, E.W. Wylie, Minn-Dak Farmers' Cooperative, Matejcek Custom Combining, and then became involved in the family farm and continued to enjoy farming with his brother Mark throughout his life.
Bob was a member of 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Eagles Club, Fairmount Rod and Gun Club, and Mooreton Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed attending daily morning coffee at Cenex and Texas Crossing with many of his close friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and considered his grandson Hunter to be his "best bud" and his granddaughters Aleyah, Marley, and Bailey to be his little princesses. His friendships reached far and wide and he will be missed by many.
Bob's hobbies included hunting, collecting guns, fast cars, motorcycles, beach volleyball, horse racing, dog shows, and was an avid super bowl fan.
Bob is survived by his wife Cindy, daughters Mandy (Tyler) Klein and Kari (Adam) Miranowski, grandchildren Aleyah and Marley Klein and Hunter and Bailey Miranowski; brothers Mike (Kathryn), Mark (Geralyn), John (Lori); sisters Jean and Kathy; in-laws Tami Matejcek, Kay (Jim) Bertelsen, Rita Krump, Susan (Dave) Raguse, Scott (Sandy) Krump, and Jeff (Dawn) Krump and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marian Matejcek, his father and mother-in-law Edward and LuMae Krump, his brother David Matejcek, his infant sister Linda Matejcek, his brother-in-law Dean Krump, and nephew Jeremy Krump.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sanford Hospice House, Fargo.
