Rick Martinez

Rick was born on February 2, 1961 in Denver, CO to Manuel and Wanda (Simpson) Martinez. He grew up in the Denver and Los Angeles, CA areas. In 1983, he met Yvonne Kramlich at the Job Corps Center in Clearfield, UT and they were united in marriage on February 25, 1984 at the Wishek Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND. They lived in Denver for five years where he worked as a laborer in construction. They moved back to North Dakota and lived in Ashley and Jamestown where he was a dietary aid at the State Hospital. In 1997, they moved back to Denver where he continued to work until an electrical accident left him disabled. They moved to Wahpeton in 2001 where they have resided since.

Rick was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. He enjoyed motorsports, especially Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic rock music, and spending time with his family.

Rick is survived by his wife, Yvonne, Wahpeton; his sons, Joseph (Kim Breker) Martinez, Fargo, ND, Josh and Jacob Martinez, both of Wahpeton, his brothers, Eddie Martinez, Grand Forks, ND, Mark (Debbie) Martinez, Thornton, CO, Chris Martinez, Federal Heights, CO, Tommy Tanguma-Martinez, Denver, CO; and his step-mother, Connie Govostis, Thornton, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Garrey Martinez.
