Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton; also, visitation Tuesday one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Regina Alice (Paul) Schliep was born November 6, 1908, at Rural Hancock,
Stevens
County

Moore Township
,
Minnesota
to Herman and Dora (Schlueter) Paul.
She was baptized on November 26, 1908, by Rev. Henry Raedecke at her home.
She grew up on the farm with her parents and had attended public school in District 20,
Stevens
County
. MN.
She was confirmed by Rev. Carl Ristow on June 7, 1922, at

, Stevens County, MN.
In November of 1927 she went into the Nursing field and became a Trained Practical Nurse at the

Hospital
in
Appleton
.
Regina
was employed in various hospitals, spending 12 years at
Kaufman
Hospital
,
Appleton
.
On March 26, 1937, she was united in marriage to Wallace Schliep by Rev. Faedtke in
Appleton
.
They spent three years in Watson, MN in the restaurant business and then moved to Appleton where they owned, organized, and operated a nursing home for four years and in April of 1952 they moved to Ortonville and having purchased the old hospital, organized Parkview Nursing Home, and several years later they also organized a Lakeview Boarding Care Home in Ortonville.
In 1962 her husband’s health failed and they sold out.
In 1963 they bought Theatre of Season’s Café in Ortonville. In August 11, 1965 her husband passed away.
Her brother, Leon and his wife, Erma became partners for about a year and then returned back to
Iowa
.
Then the former owner asked
Regina
if she wanted another partner after she had decided to sell it.
And she and Bob Knolls went into partnership for another five years when she decided to retire.
In 1983 she moved to
Fairmount
,
ND
.
She has resided at the Leach Home and St. Catherine’s
Living
Center
, Wahpeton; and St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Home.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Karen (Gene) Scheff, Fairmount, ND; 2 grandchildren, Hilary Scheff, Fargo, ND Micah Scheff, Tacoma, WA; 1 great-grandson, Nikolas Scheff, New Orleans, LA; 2 brothers, Leon (Dorothy) Paul, Frontenac, MN, and George Paul, West St. Paul, MN; and 6 nieces and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace; and 1 brother, Albert; 2 sisters-in-law, Erma Paul and Myrtle Claxton.
