Ragna was born in Otta Gulbransdalen, Norway on December 13, 1918, to John and Anna (Solhjem) Haugen. She moved with her family to America in 1921 at the age of three. She attended school at Sheyenne Central, rural McLeod. Ragna was united in marriage to Herbert Woodbury on October 26, 1941, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Leonard, ND.
They lived in Sheyenne Township where they ranched for 35 years. Ragna and Herbert moved to Wahpeton in 1976, where they enjoyed their retirement years together, also, spending time at their lake home at West McDonald, MN. Herbert passed away in 2005. Following his death Ragna remained active with her family and many friends, enjoying times at the Senior Citizens in Wahpeton and Breckenridge with her little dog “Sparky Joe”.
Ragna was a member of United Free Lutheran Church, rural McLeod and belonged to the Sons of Norway.
Ragna is survived by her fours sons, her daughter and their spouses: Arnold (Lynn) Woodbury, Wyndmere; Howard (Joy) Woodbury, McLeod; Linda (Richard) Haberman, Barney; Larry (Judy) Woodbury, McLeod; David (Paula) Woodbury, McLeod; 17 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law, Marcia Clarke, Washington and Velma Woodbury, Breckenridge, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Haugen; her husband, Herbert, March 2, 2005; brothers and sisters and in-laws: Jorgen (Agnes) Haugen, Alfred (Arlene) Haugen, Ida (Rangvold) Hegseth, Ardy Woodbury, Robert (Irene) Woodbury, Agnes (Ivan) Williams, and Eleanor (Chuck) Corliss.
