Patty Grotluschen

Patricia "Patty" Grotluschen, 55, Kent, MN passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 17, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent, MN with Father Joe Backowski officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer vigil at 5:30 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the mass on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.
Patty was born on November 1, 1958 in Breckenridge, MN to Donald and Irene (Meyer) Demoray. She grew up and attended school in the Dwight, ND area and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1977.
Patty was united in marriage to Robert Grotluschen on June 11, 1977 at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. They lived on the farm near Kent, MN where they raised their three children. In the early 1990's she started her employment as a Postmaster Relief worker for the US Postal service. She worked in that capacity for Post Offices around the Kent area and did that to the present time.
Patty was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was involved with the Ladies Guild. Family was very important to Patty, in fact she treated most people she met as part of her family. She was a very welcoming person with a quick wit who was always there with a helping hand. She liked to can jellies and bake and was especially known for her sugar cookies and cakes for all occasions. Patty was not one to take center stage but she helped a lot of people working in the background. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Patty is survived by her husband, Bob Grotluschen, Kent, MN; her children, Angela (Rozario) Muse, and her children, Aidan and Xavier, Fargo, ND; Jill Grotluschen and her children, Jaxon and Simone, Fargo, ND; Kyle (Emma) Grotluschen, and their child due in February, Barnesville, MN; her sisters, Carole (LeRoy) Berg, Fairmount, ND, Jane (Denny) Lund, Wahpeton, ND, Mary (Pat) Kaye, West Fargo, ND, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Irene Demoray.
