Orris Morken

Orris was born August 21, 1920 in Eagle Township , rural Walcott , ND , the son of Christ H. and Olga (Lokken) Morken. Orris was baptized and confirmed at Richland Lutheran Church , rural Walcott. He attended school at Eagle No. 4.

Orris farmed all of his life, first with his father and brother and then with his son, David.

Orris married Corrine Schoeneck on January 19, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church , Wahpeton. The couple lived on their farm in rural Walcott. Corrine passed away September 8, 1999 and Orris moved into the Bethany Homes , Fargo in 2005, after 85 years of residing at his farm.

Orris was a life long member of Richland Lutheran Church and enjoyed working with his hands either rebuilding old cars and machinery or woodworking. Orris and Corrine enjoyed auction sales and collected glassware, especially Rosemead pheasants and Ruby Glass.

Orris is survived by his son David, and daughter-in-law, Roxanne, granddaughters Janet and Laura Morken, three nephews and three nieces and many great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Olga, his wife, Corrine, his grandson James, brother Jim and sister Clarice Voss.
