Myrtle Violet Styf was born on November 4, 1919 in Wahpeton, ND, to Austin and Caroline (Max) Ferguson. She attended school in Foxhome, MN. On September 25, 1940 she married Arnold Styf in Breckenridge, MN. The couple farmed and raised their children in rural Wahpeton, ND. After Arnold died in 1991 Myrtle continued to reside on the home farm until entering Villa Maria, Fargo, ND on April 16, 2011.
Myrtle was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND, Immanuel Sewing and Quilters Circle, the Senior Citizens Center and she enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, quilting and playing cards. She did many crafts and grew beautiful African Violets. She was a member and did volunteer work at Richland County Historical Society and served countless hours as a volunteer at the St. Francis Healthcare Campus after her husband died as she felt more "connected" and needed in the community.
She will be sadly missed by her 3 children; Colin (Kathy) Styf, Rome, NY, Lorin "Butch" (Mavoureen) Styf, Wahpeton, ND and Sharon (Jeff) Weitzel, Fargo, ND, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold and 2 brothers, Willis and Arlen Ferguson.
