Myron Rostad, formerly
James Myron Rostad was the first of five children born to Mildred (Wold) and Ingman Rostad on May 23, 1936.
He was baptized into the Lutheran faith by Pastor J.O. Silseth on June 25, 1936.
His sponsors were his grandparents Mary and Jens Wold, his aunt, Inga Rostad and uncle, Olaf Wold.
He affirmed his baptism through confirmation on May 7, 1950, at
Myron attended a one-room country school through the eighth grade and graduated from
Myron had a lifelong passion for agriculture, beginning when he started driving tractor in the field at age seven.
He enjoyed raising wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, sugar beets, dry edible beans and sunflowers.
He was honored with the Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 1966 and named one of American Crystal Sugar Company’s top producers in 1981.
In addition to farming, he ran a custom combining operation for more than thirty years.
Myron retired from farming in 1999 and kept his hand in the industry by continuing to farm a few acres.
Family, friends, church and the Colfax community were always important in Myron’s life.
He was a vintage John Deere enthusiast and also enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting.
Myron was honored to serve as a pall bearer dozens of times.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Kroseman; parents-in-law, Elmer and Norma (Hestdalen) Affield.
Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 3:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at
