Michael Pikarski

Michael J. Pikarski, 54, Mooreton, ND, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND, with Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is handling the arrangements.

Michael Joseph Pikarski was born May 29, 1959 in Breckenridge, MN, the first child of Joseph and Jeannette (Srnka) Pikarski. Mike grew up in Mooreton, attending grade school in Mooreton and graduated from Wahpeton Senior High in 1977. He attended NDSSS where he was enrolled in the Diesel Mechanic Program. He then worked for Hanson Ford, Grand Forks, Midwest Mack, Fargo and Loberg Ford, Wahpeton before he started farming with his father. He enjoyed working with his father on the farm until his father's passing away in 2003. Mike continued farming; was starting to teach his son Joe the trade and had also began his association with Conklin Company since 2000. He loved spending time with his children and working on the farm. He received several acknowledgments and awards, including many from the National Corn Growers Association.

Mike is survived by his two children, Joe and Jayden; his mother, Jeannette Pikarski, Wahpeton; five brothers and sisters: Stephanie (Mike) Lupo, Eden Prairie, MN; Donald Pikarski, Aberdeen, SD; Renee (Bob) Rosemore, Wahpeton; Kent Pikarski, Reeder, ND; Jolene Pikarski, New Prague, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe.
