Michael Houle

Michael Joseph Houle, 49, Wahpeton, ND passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Father Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Mike was born on October 2, 1963 to Albert "Chip" and Eleanor (Charley) Houle in Breckenridge, MN. He lived in Wahpeton, ND all his life and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1981. He worked for Tangen Construction and presently worked for Dakota Magic Casino as a Pit Boss. He was also a part-time bartender for Sportsman's Lounge in Wahpeton.

Mike was a member of the Buffalo Club who enjoyed fishing, bowling, deer hunting, pool, darts, and played co-ed volleyball in his younger days. He was known for his quick wit and was a Vikings and Twins fan. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Otter Tail Lake. Mike was very good at spoiling his nieces and nephews and attended all their extra curricular activities.

Mike is survived by his sisters, Kathy (David) Langenwalter, Fairmount, ND, Christine Breckheimer, Fergus Falls, MN; his brother, Thomas Houle, Wahpeton, ND; his nieces and nephews, John and Joseph Langenwalter, Jane (Justin) Campbell, Kyle Houle, William "Billy" Breckheimer, and Cheyenne Breckheimer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
