Maybelle Hollingworth

Maybelle M. Hollingworth, 94, Marysville, WA, originally Wyndmere, ND, died on September 2, 2013 at Marysville, WA. Funeral services will be held on 2;30 PM, Monday, September 23, at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Mike Ward officiating. Inurnment will be at the Elk Creek Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND. Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Maybelle was the last of 13 children born to Chris M. and Millie Jensen. Her family farmed outside of Wyndmere, ND for several years and later moved into town. She married Richard Hollingworth and together they built and managed a resort on Ottertail Lake, MN and also a farm near Battle Lake, MN. After the resort was sold she moved to Moorhead, MN with her four boys where she worked for the college. She raised her boys as a single mom, always with 100% devotion and compassion. When her oldest son returned from the Army, she moved to Marysville, WA. She worked for the State Social Services office until her retirement.

She is survived by her four sons; Gary, Spokane, WA, Steve (Beth), Cheyenne, WY, David (Lynette), Snohomish, WA and Jon (Julie), Kent, WA; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She will be remembered by all for her generosity, passion, unselfishness and unconditional love without ever complaining about any of her own problems. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. We are very grateful that she was "our mom", "our hero" and "our guardian angel".
