The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND.
Visitation will also be at the church on Monday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. with a
6:00 P.M. Christian Mothers Mass and a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be at

Mary Ann Miesen was born on October 3, 1933 in
Breckenridge
,
MN
to Peter and Anna (Blazek) Miesen.
She attended country school in
Lidgerwood
,
ND
and St. Boniface School also in Lidgerwood graduating in 1951 from the
St.
Francis
Academy
,
Hankinson
,
ND
.
She then went on to graduate from St. Francis School of Nursing,
Breckenridge
,
MN
in September of 1954.
Mary worked at
St.
Francis
Hospital
until 1962 when she began employment with St. Gabriels Hospital, Little Falls, MN.
She was a clinical instructor until 1974 at St. Gabriels before beginning her career at Innovis Healthcare (then
Dakota
Hospital
) in
Fargo
,
ND
until 1978.
She then became the Administrator at the Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND until 1985 when she moved to Lidgerwood to care for her elderly father.
In 1989 she returned to Wahpeton to work at St. Catherine’s Nursing Home until 1990 when she moved to
Moorhead
,
MN
and worked at St. Ansgar Hospital in Psychiatric Nursing for one year until the hospital closed.
From 1991-1994 Mary worked as a telephone nurse at the
West
Fargo
Medical
Center
,
West Fargo
,
ND
until her retirement in 1994.
Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing keyboard.
She also started the very first American Cancer Society in Little Falls, MN.
She will be lovingly remembered as an excellent nurse and care giver.
She is survived by her sisters, Marcella Miesen, Wahpeton, ND, Helen (Robert) Hanson, Denver, CO, a brother, John (Grace) Miesen,
Schertz
,
TX
, a sister-in-law, Mary E. Miesen, Wahpeton, ND and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter A. and Anna. C. Miesen and a brother, Mark P. Miesen.
