Mary Meyer, 49, Wahpeton, ND, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at her home under the care of Riveredge Hospice. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at St. John?s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Luke Meyer as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at St. John?s Catholic Church, Wahpeton; also, visitation one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Arrangements are with the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
Mary Beth Meyer was born November 29, 1958, at New Rockford, ND, the daughter of Thomas and Irene (Jones) Allmaras. She moved to Wahpeton with her family as a child and attended St. John?s Catholic School, and graduated from Wahpeton Senior High in 1977, where she participated in track and was a cheerleader. She attended NDSCS in Nursing and on October 12, 1979, she was united in marriage to Dan Meyer at the Newman Center in Wahpeton. They lived in Grafton, ND for several years where Mary worked for a nursing home and later worked at Dakota Clinic in Fargo, before moving to Wahpeton in 1986. Mary had been employed at the Wahpeton Clinic now Dakota Clinic for the past 20 years.
Mary was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church. Her enjoyment in life was following her two sons in their activities, especially in football and wrestling. Her favorite place to visit was at Ottertail Like with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dan Meyer, Wahpeton; her two sons, Danny (Elizabeth Freden) Meyer, Fargo, ND, Jeff Meyer, Moorhead, MN; her granddaughter, Harper; her parents, Tom and Irene Allmaras, Sun City, Arizona; two brothers and her sister, Mike (Marsha) Allmaras, Grand Forks, ND, Beverly (Mark) Schmitt, Ligonier, IN, Mark (Anita) Allmaras, Fort Wayne, IN; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Carol Meyer, Breckenridge, MN.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
