Mary DeMesy

Mary DeMesy, 93, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND, in the company of her son Duane, granddaughter, Linda, and great-granddaughter, Jaime, along with all the wonderful loving aids and nurses that have been with her for the past 8 years. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from noon until time of service at the church. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery , Breckenridge , Minnesota .

Mary was born in Wahpeton, ND March 26, 1915, to Mike and Katherine (Ogorek) Kielb. She married Norman DeMesy on May 2, 1939, and they lived and farmed in Dwight for almost 50 years. They spent 44 winters in Brownsville , TX . Norman passed away on December 12, 1999.

Mary is now in heaven with her husband, Norman; her daughter-in-law, Mary; her parents; her brothers and sisters, Cashmire, Hedwig, Stanley, Verna, Andy; and many other loved family members that are all re-united.

She is survived by her son Duane; grandchildren, Guy, Linda, and Scott (Riter); great-grandchildren, Jaime, Jeff, and Julia who all are in the Twin Cities; and many nieces and nephews around the Minneapolis and Wahpeton area.
