Marlyn Thomas Haugen was born March 2, 1932, to Hazel (Olson) and Melvin Haugen in Breckenridge, MN. He spent his early years on the family farm north of Wyndmere, ND and attended rural school at Garborg Township. Marlyn worked on the family farm with his dad and brother for many years. He also worked for the Wally Wittenburg Turkey Farm as well as mowing lawns for many people while living in Wyndmere. For many years he was responsible for the lawn care at Grace Lutheran Church and Gol Aal Cemetery.
Marlyn was a life-time member of Grace Lutheran Church, rural Wyndmere. He was actively involved in the Wyndmere Senior Center before moving to St. Catherinea�(TM)s Living Center in Wahpeton. Marlyn will be remembered for his creative woodworking, love of gardening and the outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing, completing jigsaw puzzles, playing Bingo and loved his pet parakeets.
Marlyn is survived by his brother, Donald (Marian) Haugen, rural Wyndmere; and his sister, Karen (Leroy) Munoz, Roseville, California; brother-in-law, Gary Woodbury, Fargo, ND, seven nieces and nephews; Mike Haugen, Doug (Lisa Hedin) Haugen, Kara Woodbury, Alane Woodbury, Mark (Cynthia) Munoz, Michael (Sharon) Munoz and Marnie (Ronnie) Leavitt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, mother Hazel, sister, Joann and a baby brother.
