Marion Hausauer, 81, Lake Havasu City, AZ died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND. There will be visitation at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with the family. Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Marion was born in Mantador, ND on October 28, 1929 to Melvin and Minifred Fluto. She attended schools in Wyndmere, ND and later at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She married Orin "Lou" Hoffman in Mooreton, ND in 1950 and later moved to Wahpeton where she worked at the Corner Drug, NDSCS as an administrative assistant and was the business manager at the Breckenridge Clinic, Breckenridge, MN. Orin died in January of 1972.
In 1978 she married Roy Hausauer and they spent their time between their homes in Wahpeton and Stuart Lake, MN. They traveled extensively as Roy was a North Dakota State Representative from Wahpeton and served on many state and national committees. They made many friends throughout the state and country and always enjoyed entertaining at their lake home where they also enjoyed golfing and fishing.
In 2000 they relocated to Lake Havasu, AZ. Roy died in September of 2002.
Marion was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and was involved in many church activities. She contributed her time to many church charities and was active as a sewer and a quilter. The charities included children in Central America and local Arizona Indian Reservations. She was an avid golfer and actively played until her recent illness.
She is survived by two sons; Terry Hoffman, Vail, CO and Steve Hoffman, West Fargo, ND, two step-children, Joe Hausauer, Naples, FL and Janis (Hausauer) Burke, Yakima, WA, four step grandchildren, Sam and Katie Hausauer, Florida and Clay and Caitlin Burke, Washington, two sisters, Yvonne (Charles) Link, Atlanta, GA and Karen (Dennis) Zimmer, Sun Lakes, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband "Lou" and two brothers, Richard and Stanley Fluto.
