Margaret Wold

Margaret Wold, 96, of Galchutt, ND, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her home.  Her visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at Galchutt Lutheran Church, Galchutt, ND, with pastor Kim Adams officiating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in rural Galchutt.  Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Margaret Isabelle (Moen) Wold was born October 3, 1922 in Fargo, ND to Edward and Leva (Hendrickson) Moen.  She attended school in Galchutt, ND, she continued her education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and NDAC (NDSU) in Fargo, ND.

Margaret married Curtis Wold on December 31, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN.  They moved to Los Angeles, CA, for a short time where Margaret worked for Brown Chemical Corp.  Margaret and Curtis then moved back to Galchutt and began farming and raised their two children, Larry and Lynette.

She was member of Galchutt Lutheran Church, Galchutt American Legion Auxiliary and was Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 764.

Margaret is survived by her son, Larry Wold and her daughter, Lynette (Robbie) Leake; her grandchildren, Jason Leake, John (Whitney) Leake, Kristi (Ryan) Benson; great-grandchildren, Peyton Benson, Chase Benson, Ollie Leake and Aubrey Leake; a brother, Edward Moen Jr. (Lois); and her nephews and nieces, Mark (Darlene) Moen, Michael (Twila) Moen, Janelle (Dana) Hermes, Teresa Palomino and Rosemarie (Russ) Adair.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents, Edward and Leva Moen; and her nephew, Steven Moen.
