Margaret Hemsing

Margaret M. Hemsing, 91, Breckenridge, MN and formerly of Wahpeton, ND passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at the St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN with her loved ones by her side. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Francis Healthcare Chapel, 2400 St. Francis Drive, Breckenridge, MN with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:30 A.M. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Margaret "Marge" Hemsing was born in Lidgerwood, ND on April 26, 1920 to Charles and Mary (Ballak) Prasek. She graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1939. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA and attended the California School of Cosmetology. On June 27, 1949 she married Ernest M. Hemsing at Wyndmere, ND. The couple lived at Lidgerwood until 1952 when they moved to Wahpeton, where they raised their family. "Marge" as many knew her worked for many years at the Red Owl Grocery store and later Bobs Fairway Foods. Ernest died on October 14, 1973 and Margaret retired in 1982 She continued to live in Wahpeton until she entered the St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Riverwalk, Breckenridge, MN on February 16, 2009 where she resided until her death.

Marge was past member of the Eagles and enjoyed puzzles and circle words. She was known to have a quick wit and often had humorous "comebacks" for those that knew her. She was always looking on the light side of life.

She is survived by her two children, Monta (Dave) Becker, St. Paul, MN and Bill (Jeanette) Hemsing, Wahpeton, ND; grandchildren, Brandon (Rachel) Hemsing, East Grand Forks, MN and their children, Zane and Kiersten, Kim (Jakob) Lauridsen, Denmark and their children, Chandler Lauridsen, Wahpeton, ND and Kaitlin and Carsten Lauridsen, Denmark, Heather (Cory) Platt, Wahpeton, ND and their children Rylie and Tristen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, three sisters: Agnes Blazek, Dell Nockelby and Helen Dotzenrod and one brother Al Prasek.
