Margaret Deissler

Margaret Deissler, 96, Breckenridge, MN and formerly of Wahpeton, ND died on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Home in Breckenridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale F. Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND.

Margaret was born on May 1, 1919 in Mooreton, ND the daughter of Mathias and Mary (Poss) Althoff. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic School in Mooreton and Ibsen Township school.
In 1943 she moved to Wahpeton where she was employed by N.C. Mason, O.D. Margaret worked there for 6 ½ years. She was united in marriage to John Deissler on October 12, 1949 in Mooreton. The couple resided in Wahpeton and raised their three children, William, Mary and James. The couple entered the St. Francis Nursing Home in 2007.

Margaret was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the St. John's Choir. She enjoyed raising plants; especially geraniums and loved singing in the church choir.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Mary Deissler, Jamestown, ND, her son James (Maria) Deissler, Tucson, AZ, her two sisters, Emma Althoff, Breckenridge, MN and Helen (Louis) Zinsli, Alexandria, MN and her brother, Vernon (Joanne) Althoff, Mooreton, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2012, her son William "Bill" in 2004 and her brother, Herman Althoff in 1999.
