Marcella Rudolph

Marcella C. Rudolph, 89, a resident of Sauk Rapids, MN, formerly Barney, ND, went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2012. The Funeral Service will be Monday, June 4, 2:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney. Visitation will be Sunday at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 6 PM Prayer Service and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.


Marcella Caroline Rudolph was born to Adolph and Alma (Friskop) Rudolph on May 16, 1923. She grew up near Delamere, ND, where she attended rural school and graduated from Wyndmere High School. On September 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Alvin "Doc" Rudolph. The couple farmed near Barney, ND. Alvin passed away November 11, 1997; Marcy continued to live on the farm until 2007 when she moved to Sauk Rapids, MN to be near her family.

Marcy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and also the Barney VFW Auxiliary for many years. She was a hard worker and for leisure she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and mowing the grass. Marcy was very fun loving, positive and especially enjoyed Christmas preparations and celebrations with family. (The joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren) She attended Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church in Rice, MN the last four years.

Marcy is survived by three children: LuAnn (Fred) Legatt, Bonnie (Garry) Loidolt, all of Rice, MN; Curt (Carolyn) Rudolph, Corning, NY; grandchildren: Sarah (Jeremy), Kristen (Mike), Dakota, Bethany, Laura, Matt (Hege), and Maria (Dane); great grandchildren: Isaac, Carson, Gavin, Bennett, Vivien, Maja, Frederik, Julia, and Kristina; two sisters, Norma Brekke, Milnor, ND and Ramona (Loren) Hudson, Delamere, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin "Doc", and two brothers, Orville "Mike" Olson and Floyd "Butch" Deemer.

Memorials are requested to Salvation Army in memory of Marcella.
