Lynnette Rovig, 48, of Wahpeton, ND passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 9, at 11:00 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton with visitation one hour prior to service, with Rev. Erika Buller officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.
Lynn was born on December 22, 1969 in Lisbon, ND to George and Beverly (Reinke) Silvernail. Before starting grade school, her family moved to Kindred, ND where she began her formal education and in 1988, graduated from high school. After receiving her diploma, she moved to Wahpeton for a short time before moving to Abercrombie, ND where she began her adult life working at a nursing home. Lynn had a deep sense of respect for the helping field and enjoyed meeting the needs of her residents.
In 1990, Lynn was blessed with her first daughter, Candace and in 1994, her second daughter, Ali. She moved back to Wahpeton in 2003, where Lynn began dating her life-long friend, Kendall Rovig, and they began their married life together on July 17, 2004. This union brought together their two families and Lynn was given the opportunity to be a part of Kayla Rovig and Britt Rovig’s life. The family of six made their home together in Wahpeton, and Lynn began working for M & H gas station for a number of years. Later, she began working for Dakota Steel Arts in Mantador, ND before returning to work for the gas station. Lynn was a hardworking and dedicated employee; she made several friends and regular customers while working at M & H gas station.
After Lynn was no longer able to work, she surrounded herself with family and friends. Though she might not have acknowledged it, Lynn was the steady foundation that held her family together. She had circumstances and trials that she overcame every day, and she proved to everyone that she was a fighter. Her strength and positive outlook on life allowed her to focus on the greatest source of her joy - her grandchildren. The family regularly enjoyed late night’s playing cards, pool, and darts. She had a special knack for puzzles, especially 3-D puzzles, and over the years, Lynn completed more than seventy 3-D puzzles. Lynn did not let anything slow her down, she loved staying up to date on current events in the community and she enjoyed spending as much time with her loved ones as she could. Lynn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who gave us the gift of her life, one that will never be forgotten.
Lynn will be deeply missed by her husband of 14 years, Kendall Rovig; her children, Candace (Steven) Henning of Wahpeton; Britt Rovig of Wahpeton; Kayla (Tony Scott) Rovig of Wahpeton; and Alison (Kyler Maack) Probasco of Wahpeton; her grandchildren, Cassidy Scott, Brandi Henning, Zachery Zimmel, Kayleigh Scott, Rylan Silvernail, Benjamin Henning, Keeran Scott, Greyson Henning, and Aurora Probasco; her siblings, Roxanne (Jerry) Steif of Bonduel, WI, Kevin (Michelle) Silvernail of Fargo, ND, Jeff Silvernail Sr. of Stillwater, MN, and half-brother, Randy (Connie) Reinke of Napolean, ND; her dear friend and sister-in-law, Rita Silvernail of Great Bend, ND; her uncles, John (Shelly) Silvernail of Fargo, ND, Allen (Becky) Reinke and Dennis Reinke, both of Lisbon, ND; and her aunts, Doris Medenwaldt of Providence, RI, and Sandy Reinke of Killdeer, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, George and Beverly (Reinke) Silvernail; her siblings, Chuck Silvernail, Brian Silvernail, and Brad Silvernail; her sister-in-law, Tara Rovig; and her nephews, Josh Steif and Jeremiah Silvernail.
