Lucille Buck

Luccile A. Buck, 91, Wahpeton, ND, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at her home under the care of Riveredge Hospice. The Funeral Service will be Friday, February 25, 10:30 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton with Rev. Morris Stephens Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, in the spring.

Luccile was born May 14, 1919, in Richland County, North Dakota, the daughter of John R. and Amanda (Ahrens) Ehrens. She attended elementary school at Dwight, Nansen and Garborg townships. She worked for the Joe Napravnik family in Wahpeton. On June 28, 1945, Lucille was united in marriage to John G. Buck at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton. They resided on the Buck farmstead, where they farmed and raised their two sons. In 1978 they moved into Wahpeton; John passed away December 14, 2000 and Luccile continued living in her home.

Luccile was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tyler, ND. Over the years Luccile played the accordion for family and friends. She also enjoyed bingo, cards and visiting on the phone. She will be fondly remembered by friends and family for her wonderful laugh.

Luccile is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Donavon (Barbara) Buck, rural Wahpeton; Maynard (Sandy) Buck, Centennial, CO; five grandchildren: Daniel Buck, Menomonie, WI; Andrew (Sara) Buck, Fremont, NE; Cassie Buck, Roseau, MN; Amie (Brady) Miller, rural Wahpeton; and Michael (Larisa) Buck, Denver, CO; her sister, Ethel Griffin, Wahpeton, and her sister-in-law, Darline and her husband Lester Vogeler, Wahpeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, six brothers: George, August, Ray, Rudolph, Delbert and Lewis Ehrens; and two sisters, Mabel Johnson and Leona Wateland.

The family requests memorials be given to Riveredge Hospice.
