Larry was born November 27, 1932, in Duerr Township , Lidgerwood , ND , to Albert and Ella (Marohl) Trittin. He was baptized and confirmed at the rural Immanuel Lutheran Church . He was raised on a farm with 13 brothers and sisters. After high school he was drafted into the Korean Conflict and served in both Japan and Korea . When returning home, he attended the ND State College of Science, graduating in auto body and for one year became an instructor in the same field. At the college he also served as the Bookstore manager, Game Room manager and later the Director of Student Activities. He taught bowling for the physical education program. Each year he was responsible for the NDSCS Homecoming celebration including the Homecoming Parade. After 38 years of service he retired from the College in 1997.

On October 13, 1962, he was joined in holy matrimony to Ruthy Joan Sorensen at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Bagley , Minnesota . God blessed their marriage with one daughter and two sons.

Larry loved music and sang with the Alphean Male Choir, the Community Choir and the Church Choir, until Macular Degeneration robbed him of his vision. Unable to read the notes he began playing instruments by ear. Every month he played with the State Line Fiddlers. This last year he won first place in the South Dakota State Fiddle and Harmonica contest in Yankton, SD. Larry loved to bowl with a record of 11 straight strikes in one game. He enjoyed woodworking and being outside doing yard work especially tending to his rose gardens. Most of all he loved to spend time with his 7 grandchildren.

He has been a member of the Missouri Lutheran Church all of his life. His father often took the family to church in a sleigh drawn by horses in the winter months. As a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Wahpeton, he served as president of the congregation and a deacon, as well as singing in the choir for many years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joan, one daughter, Carolyn (Bernie) Worral, Fargo, two sons: Brian (Lisa) Trittin, Round Rock, TX, and Bruce (Lesa) Trittin, Tampa, FL; seven beautiful grandchildren; his two sisters: Grace (Andy) Anderson, Watertown, SD; Ella (Bernie) Rasinski, Bloomington, MN; and five brothers: Harold, Walter, Frederick (Barbara), Gerhardt, and Ernest (Elaine) Trittin, all of Lidgerwood, ND, his sister-in-law, Patricia Trittin, and brother-in-law Bruce Lynn, both of Lidgerwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Vera Bohn, Lidgerwood, two brothers and 3 sisters.
