Lloyd "Bob" Hansen, 74, rural Nevis, MN, formerly Abercrombie, ND, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 26 at his home surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 30, 3:00 PM, at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Nevis. Visitation will be Friday, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, and one hour before the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Nevis. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.
Lloyd Robert Hansen was born September 16, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MN, the son of Eubert and Martha (Hayes) Hansen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family moved to Breckenridge, MN, when Bob was 6 years old. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1959. Bob served in the National Guard and Army Reserve from 1955 to 1964. He worked for his Dad in the concrete construction business and other various construction jobs until obtaining his class B and Journeymen's Electrical License in North Dakota. Bob married LaVella (Lollie) Egger on April 12, 1962 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Abercrombie, making their home in Breckenridge, until moving to Abercrombie in 1966. He started Hansen Electric in 1969 and his brother Erland joined him in the business in 1979. They sold the business in 1991 when Bob developed medical problems. Bob and Lollie retired to their lake home at Nevis, MN in 2007.
Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting, dancing and square dancing. When the kids were teen-agers, Bob could be found behind the wheel of a speed boat, teaching all the kids in the camp ground how to water ski. He had been a member of Eagles, Abercrombie volunteer Fire Department and Ft. Aber Swingers Square Dance Club. Bob also served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. While living in Abercrombie he was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, Nevis.
Bob is survived by his wife LaVella (Lollie) of Nevis, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary Hansen of Abercrombie, ND; daughter and son-in-law Stacey and Vernon Reynolds of Dillon, MT, and five grandchildren: Brittany Hansen of Fargo, Zachary, Heather and Elijah Hansen of Abercrombie, Danielle Warburton of Dillon, MT,; brother and sister-in-law Erland and Kitty Hansen of Wahpeton; sisters-in-law Nancy Hansen, of Fargo and Lucille Egger of Abercrombie; two nephews: Mark (Mary) Hansen, Ron Svare and one niece Renee (Rick) Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eubert and Martha Hansen and brother Eugene.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Nevis or St. Joseph's Hospice at Park Rapids.
