Kevin Barringer

Kevin "Red" Barringer, 58, Mooreton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at St. Gerard's Community Nursing Home, Hankinson, ND. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 20, at 11:00 AM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND with Pastor Jen Tyler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Red was born on March 24, 1956 in Lisbon, ND to Percy and Vyrlee (Martin) Barringer. When he was in the first grade the family moved to Gwinner where he graduated from North Sargent High School in 1974.

Red was united in marriage in 1976 to Bev Schillinger in Forman, ND. To this union a son, Joshua, was born. They moved to Wahpeton where Red worked for Frontier, and later for Red River Service Center. He then went to work for the Case/IH plant in Fargo for many years. Most recently he was working for Cow Boss in Wyndmere, ND.

Red was a member of the Dwight Fire Department, ABATE, and the NRA. He enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, camping, and riding his Harley. He took pride in having get-togethers at his farm and had recently restored a Farmall Super M.

Red was a man with a great sense of humor, who was always busy, lived life on his terms, and never gave up. Family was very important to Red and the pride of his life was his grandson, Boden.

Red is survived by his son, Joshua (Wanda) Barringer, Mooreton, ND, his grandchildren, Boden Barringer, Mir Engstrom, and Devin Engstrom; his brothers, Kurt and Kent Barringer; his sister, Judy (Pat) Mader; his nieces, Judy (Ted) Pletsch, Erin (Derek) Vanden Branden, Keshia and Kamie Barringer; and his nephew, Jerry Moir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Keith and Kim Barringer, and a sister, Lois Moir.
