Kenneth Lee

Kenneth was born in Abercrombie Township near Pitcairn on November 12, 1923 to Lars and Helga (Bolstad) Lee. He grew up and attended country school near Pitcairn and graduated from Colfax High School in 1941. After graduation he worked on the family farm.

Kenny was united in marriage to Sylpha Bjerkager on December 4, 1948 at Bethany Lutheran Church. After their marriage they lived in Wahpeton and Fargo where Kenny was an assistant manager and buyer for Lambert Lumber and Simonsen Lumber. They were also foster parents for infants while they lived in Fargo. In 1964, Kenny and Sylpha moved to the Bjerkager family farm near Colfax where they lived to the present day. He farmed and in 1972, he bought the lumber yard in Abercrombie, ND until retiring in 1986.

Kenny was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church for most of his life and was involved in many of the church offices. He was a charter member of the Alphean Male Chorus of Richland/Wilkin counties, retiring in 2008 after 60 years with them. He was also active with the Colfax Senior Center and
with the Abercrombie Senior Citizens where he helped Sylpha cook the senior meals for over 20 years.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylpha, Colfax, ND; his daughters, VaLois (John) McConnell, Casselton, ND, Karen (Jim) Gallagher, Forman, ND; his son, Kevin Lee, St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Kelly (David) Duff-Bowers, Kyle (Melody) McConnell, Michael Gallagher, Kristen (Eric) McConnell Johnson, Thomas Lee, Nicole Lee; great grandchildren, J. Robert Duff, Rogan Duff, Signe Duff, Everett McConnell, Gabe McConnell, Ashley Bowers, Alyssa Bowers, Alexis Bowers; his sister, Thordis Danielson, West Fargo, ND; his brothers, Herbert (Shirley) Lee, Olympia, WA, Willard (Betty) Lee, Winter Park, FL, Clayton (Joan) Lee, Abercrombie, ND; several cousins here and in Norway and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lars and Helga Lee, his brothers, Melford, Oswald, Arthur, and Oscar Lee; his brother-in-law, Vernon Danielson; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Lee, Angy Lee, and Phyllis Lee; and his nephew, Duane Lee.
