Kathleen Saenger

Kathleen Renee Saenger (Hasbargen), 68, of Breckenridge, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by her family on January 18, 2025. Born on July 14, 1956, to William and Beverly Hasbargen and with 10 brothers and sisters, Kathy grew up in a large family and continued a tradition of love and support as she started her own family.

As the mother of four, step-mother of two, and grandmother of nine, Kathy was the heart and soul of her family. She lived her life for her kids and grandkids, never missing a game, meet, or competition of her daughters growing up. She continued this tradition by traveling the country to watch her grandkids participate in activities they loved and even learning how to livestream events when she couldn’t make the trip. She will be forever missed and always loved. 

Kathy is survived by her husband Dave, her daughters Stacy with her husband Michael and children, Tamryn, Jewel, and Matthew; Jamie with her husband Kevin and their son Mason; and Heidi; and her step-daughters Stephanie with her husband Greg and children Morgan and Olivia and Karrie with her children Ava, Parker, and Thea. She is preceded by her son Wayne, husband Paul, father William, and mother Beverly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 25, 2025, at 11:00 with visitation starting at 10:00 at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, North Dakota. There will be a luncheon following the service. In-lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a tree be planted in her name.
