BOX 6 WAHPETON, NORTH DAKOTA 58074 (701) 642-4000 Jovan Krnjaic, 65, Wahpeton, ND died on Saturday April 18, 2008 at his home in Wahpeton surrounded by his family and under the loving care of Riveredge Hospice. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 24 at 2:00 P.M. at the Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harvey Henderson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Croatia. Jovan Krnjaic was born on December 24, 1942 at Belgrade, Yugoslavia to Milic and Draginja (Gavrilovic) Krnjaic. After WW II the family moved to Zagreb, Croatia. Jovan attended high school and the University of Croatia and graduated as an economist. He worked for the National Bank in Glina, Croatia for 13 years. He was married to Radojka Seovic in Croatia, and the couple renewed their marriage vows for their United States citizenship on June 20, 1999 at the United Church of Christ in Wahpeton, ND. On August 5, 1995 the family was forced to move to Kosovo as refugees, and live in a one room house. When the war started in Kosovo in 1998, the family applied to leave the country for the safety of their children. They were sponsored by Lutheran Social Services and came to Wahpeton, North Dakota. Jovan was employed at Primewood, at Central Elementary School from 2000-2003, Cargill from 2003-2005 and Minn-Dak Co-op, as a security officer until poor health required him to retire. Jovan was a kind, hard-working and very well educated man. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 36 years, Radojka and their two sons, Milivoj and Drazen Krnjaic, all of Wahpeton, ND and his daughter, Sanja Novara, Munich, Germany, and two grandchildren; Julian and Janine Novara.
