Joseph M. Lee

Joseph M. Lee passed away peacefully Monday, May 8, 2023 at St Catherine’s living Center in Wahpeton, ND at the age of 82, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born July 14th,1940 in Sisseton SD. Joe moved to Wahpeton ND and worked as a bread man for 33 years.  After retirement from the bread delivery route, Joe could be found at the Millers farm. Joe was a farmer at heart and retired twice from farming because he couldn’t stay away.  He had a special place in his heart for dogs and could always be found with dog treats in his pocket in case he encountered any dogs.  Joe was truly a family man. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t know what his grandchildren were doing.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Joe leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Paula.  His children, Leslie (Mike) Kurpius of Wahpeton ND, Mike (Jenny) Lee of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Mary) Lee of Milbank, SD, Judy (Bob) VanHeel of Avon, MN; and many nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Catherine’s Living Center.
