John Evers

John A. Evers, 49, Wahpeton, ND passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 14, at 10:30 AM at the Wahpeton Community Center with Pastor Lynn Dau of the River of Life Community Church officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the center. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
John was born to John and Donna (Smogard) Evers on April 10, 1963, in Cooperstown, ND, and grew up on a farm near Binford, ND. He attended school at Binford High School, graduating in 1981. He later attended NDSCS, majoring in Agriculture and Electrical.
John married Andrine David on August 11, 1984, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, ND. The two had three children: Amanda, Emma, and David. John worked as a line cook at the Fryn Pan in Wahpeton until 2009 when he began his current employment with Walmart in Wahpeton. He enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Grizzley and Teddy.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Evers of Binford, ND; grandparents, Arthur and Anne Smogard, and Albert and Priscilla Evers, of Binford, ND; two uncles and one aunt also of Binford; his father-in-law, Gordon David of Wahpeton, ND; and one infant son.
He is survived by his wife, Andrine Evers; three children, David Evers of Wahpeton, ND; Emma Evers of Moorhead, MN; and Amanda Kress (Grant) of Olathe, KS; one grandchild, Tucker Kress of Olathe, KS; mother, Donna Evers of Binford, ND; mother-in-law, Arlene David of Wahpeton, ND; and several aunts and uncles.
