John J. Ciesynski, 70, Wahpeton, ND died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND under the care of Riveredge Hospice,
surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 17 at
John Joseph Ciesynski was born April 10, 1939, on a farm north of
John married the love of his life, Geraldine Brosowske on June 14, 1969. They adopted a son, Michael John, age 6 weeks on May 22, 1978. On March 8, 1977 they adopted a daughter, Tammy Marie, age 6 weeks. John retired from farming in April of 1986. He worked for Richland County Highway Department, Hankinson; then for Primewood, Inc, Wahpeton from Sept 12, 1986 to May 13, 1994 when he retired due to ill health. John and Geraldine celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 18, 1994 in Cayuga Hall with family and friends. John went on dialysis in July 1994 until November 1995 when he got a kidney transplant. In 1994 they moved off the farm to Wahpeton where they have resided. John became ill again in February 2009. He was in and out of the hospital for different medical problems. He entered St. Catherine Living Center in March 2009. John and Geraldine celebrated their 40 th Wedding Anniversary on June 14, 2009 with small family gathering.
John loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and watching “Wheel of Fortune”. He loved to talk farming with everybody. He will be sadly missed by all his loving family, friends, and neighbors.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Geraldine, Wahpeton; his son, Michael, Lidgerwood, ND, his daughter, Tammy (Lance) Haberman, Wyndmere, ND; grandchildren, Mckenzie Storbakken and Mason Haberman, both of Wyndmere; his sisters, Theresa Siemieniewski, Lisbon, ND, Rita (LeRoy) Metzen, Milnor, ND, Agnes (Mark) Jensen, Bowling Green, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Rose Sutyla; and his brother-in-law, Joe Siemieniewski.
