Jean C. Krause, 77, of Wahpeton, ND passed away January 28, 2016 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Jean C. Carey was born on September 12, 1938 in Breckenridge, MN to Claude and Grace (Rasmussen) Carey. She attended school and graduated from Wyndmere High School, Wyndmere, ND.
Jean married Vernon D. Krause on June 15, 1957 in Breckenridge, MN. They moved to Wahpeton the day of their marriage and lived there until the time of her death.
Jean worked at Anderson's Café in Wyndmere before her marriage. She was also a day care provider for over 20 years, worked at the bakery in Wahpeton for a short time, and was a custodian for the United Church of Christ in Wahpeton.
Jean enjoyed camping and watching softball games. She was also an avid reader. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Vernon; one son, Mark Krause, Fargo, ND; six grandchildren, Carey Christopher, Fargo, Danielle (Mitch) Bollman, Grand Forks, ND, Margo (Drew) Glogoza, Des Moines, IA, and Robyn, Nicole and Jodi Krause, all of Fargo; one great-grandchild, Anders Bollman, Grand Forks; and two brothers, Don (Amy) Carey, Fargo and Ron (Linda) Carey, Fergus Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deb Christopher, her father, Claude Carey and her mother, Grace Carey.
