Janet Kinneberg

Janet Kinneberg, 86, of Abercrombie, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.  There will be private family services at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Janet Marie Rezac was born on August 14, 1937, in Galchutt, North Dakota, to Joey and Marion (Herrick) Rezac.  She attended school in Galchutt, and graduated from there.  After graduation, she attended Valley City State College for her teaching certificate. 

On September 27, 1957, Janet married Carl Kinneberg at Bethany Church outside of Abercrombie, ND.  The couple would make their home in the Abercrombie area, where they raised their 2 sons, Mitch and Bill.  Janet worked at the Abercrombie grade school at a cook, then later at the Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND, where she would later retire. 

Janet loved her grandchildren, and absolutely adored her 4 great grandchildren.  She was an avid reader, and enjoyed going to rummage sales, then would top the day off with a trip to the Chinese buffet.   

Janet is survived by her husband, Carl; sons, Mitch (Renee) Kinneberg, Bill Kinneberg; grandchildren, Josh (Becky), Lukas, Andrew (Rachel), Melissa (Rob); great grandchildren, Liam, Evelyn, Morgan, Macie; and her sister, JoAnn Abel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joey and Marion; and her sister, Barb Kuchera.
