Ina Kragness

Ina A. Kragness, 103, formerly of rural Walcott, ND, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Sheyenne Crossing Care Center in West Fargo, ND. Her funeral service will be held at Richland Lutheran Church in rural Walcott, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Forsberg will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Ina Avis Kragness, daughter of John and Ingeborg (Lokken) Kragness was born October 11, 1920, on the family farm near Christine, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Richland Lutheran Church, in rural Walcott. She attended Eagle #5 and later graduated from Christine High School. She was a caregiver for their parents until their death. She later volunteered at Bethany Homes in Fargo, Elim Nursing Home, and Bonanzaville during Pioneer Days, cooking Norwegian Rommegrot.

Ina was a lifelong member of Richland Lutheran Church, rural Walcott, ND, and was active in WELCA and quilting. She was a wonderful seamstress known for her Lefse and Norwegian delicacies.

Ina is survived by her 7 nieces and nephews, Lee (Connie) Dittmer, Nisswa, MN, Elizabeth Richards, Fargo, ND, Gerald (Nancy) Bolme, Los Alamos, NM, Cathy Bolme, Minneapolis, MN, Maryann (Steve) Olthoff, Wolverton, MN, Randy Kragness, Fargo, and Dawn (Todd) Clarin, Walcott, ND; numerous great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Palmer, Oliver, Julian, and Vernon; 3 sisters, Oline Bolme, Amy Dittmer, and Clara Kragness; nephew, Peter Bolme; and niece, Beverly Hurner.

Memorials are preferred to the Richland WELCA, 17187 61 St SE, Walcott, ND 58077, where Ina was a faithful member for many years, or a charity of your choice.
