Harold Bohn, 78, Breckenridge, MN passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. The funeral service will be on Friday, April 29, at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Matthew Tooman officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.
Harold was born on December 23, 1937 in Wahpeton, ND to Rudolph and Anna (Witt) Bohn. He grew up in the Hankinson, ND area until his junior year in high school when the family moved to Wahpeton. He graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1956.
Harold was united in marriage to Marcella Math on July 29, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church, in Mitchell Township near Wolverton, MN. The couple lived in Kindred, ND and Barney, ND where Harold worked as a mechanic before moving to Breckenridge, MN and working for Sturdevant's in Wahpeton. For a time, Harold worked for Montgomery Ward until he started his career with Krause Motors in Wahpeton in 1967, where he worked his way up to Service Manager and retired in 1999. In his retirement he continued to work for car dealerships by driving cars and exchanging them.
Harold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In his earlier years he liked to travel and go to car shows. He was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed working on his yard and flowers and futzing in the garage. He was known as a hard worker and instilled that work ethic with is children. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and attended many of their activities throughout the years.
Harold will be missed by his wife, Marcella, Breckenridge, MN; his sons, Terry (Mary Jo Dailey) Bohn, Mandan, ND, Lynn Bohn, Denver, CO, Curt (Deanna) Bohn, Hastings, MN, Kelly Bohn, Coon Rapids, MN; six grandchildren, Jessica Bohn, Jeremiah (Bridget Murphy) Bohn, Kaylle Bohn, Margaret (Eric) Knutson, Ashlee (Luke) Ullestad, Taylor Bohn; two great-grandchildren, Leland Levery, and Amalia Knutson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Anna Bohn.
