Gordy was born

his twin sister, Gail on April 10, 1951 to Earl “Bud” and Ione (Miller) Vosberg in

. He grew up in
Danton
Township
, near
Wyndmere
,
ND
and attended school at Danton No. 2 until the school district was moved into
Wyndmere
Public School
where he graduated in 1969. He was baptized and confirmed in
Peace
Lutheran
Church
in
Barney
,
ND
. Gordy attended NDSCS for a time and then returned home to farm with his father and he eventually started his own dairy farm. He worked at various jobs
while
farming until he started his own construction company, Vosberg Construction.
Gordy was an active member of
Peace
Lutheran
Church
and
has
served as
Sunday School Superintendent and teacher
. He also served on the finance committee and was church cemetery sexton for many years. In his earlier years, he coached women’s softball and coached the 1982 National Class B Championship team. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, hunting, fishing, playing cards and was known as a hard worker. Gordy especially loved gathering his family at the farm on Sunday afternoons.
Gordy is survived by his children, Stephanie (fiancé, Chris Whaley) Zimmel, Wahpeton, ND, Gordon Vosberg II, Brainerd, MN, Nichole Springer, Amy Vosberg, and Dustin Vosberg all of Wyndmere; his mother, Ione Vosberg, Wyndmere; his nine grandchildren; his first great grandchild due in November; his brothers, Vance (Georgia) Vosberg, Wyndmere, Traill (Dawn) Vosberg, Fergus Falls, MN; his sisters, Vernette (Maurice) Houck, Covington, LA, Verdelle (Michael) Stinar, Richville, MN, Gail Gerrich, Fargo, ND; his special friend, Dee Krause, Lidgerwood, ND; his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl “Bud” Vosberg on February 6, 2008.
He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he has touched.
