Gloria Nyquist

Gloria Nyquist, 85, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Health, Breckenridge, MN. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 30, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer vigil at 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Gloria (Novick) Nyquist was born on September 13, 1930 to Stanley and Mary (Sullivan) Novick at Brainerd, MN. She grew up in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School. On August 8, 1950 she married Henry T. Nyquist. In 1958, they moved to Wahpeton where they spent their life together and raised their three children.

Gloria loved nature and spending time at her lake home. She also enjoyed cats and dogs, playing bridge with her numerous bridge clubs, and helping out at the Carmelites. But, what Gloria loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared in Gloria's life are her husband, Henry; her son, John Nyquist; her grandchildren, John (Niki) Nyquist and Ryan (Aja) Nyquist; her great-grandchildren, Drew and Mason Nyquist; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Nyquist; and her loving dog, Zeus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary; one daughter, Beth Ann Nyquist; and one son, David H. Nyquist.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that memorials be sent to the Richland Wilkin Humane Society.
