Glen Bert Stange was born to Arno and Dorothy (Lohndorf) Stange, on May 28, 1945 in Graceville, MN. He and his 3 siblings were raised on the family farm outside of Dumont, MN. He attended school and graduated from Graceville and qualified for state wrestling during his high school years. After high school he stayed in the area and played for the Dumont Saints baseball team for a couple of years. Glen held many jobs throughout his life. Right out of school he did custom combine work and later drove the Bunny bread truck for the local areas. Then owned and managed the Sting Rays steakhouse outside of Wheaton, MN. He was a great cook and worked at many restaurants either cooking or managing. For many years he was in the northern most parts of Alaska working security for the oil companies, then way south to Arizona, managing a thrift shop. In 2018, he moved to the Breckenridge location to be closer to his kids.
After retiring Glen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins play. He never missed a Twins game, and if he did it would be the first thing on the very next morning. He knew, sang, and loved country music from the 50’s-60’s, and old westerns were his favorite movies. He grew accustomed to the Arizona heat and often would sit on his patio to soak up as many rays as he could. His kids were the apple of his eye. After moving back to the area, he was always so happy hearing and talking with Lisa and Rick.
Glen is survived by his children, Lisa (Dean) Lehmann and Rick (Tara) Stange; his grandchildren, Daniel Johnson, Justin (Jessica) Lehmann, Eric (Nicole) Lehmann, Michael (Devon) Lehmann, Brandon Stange, Dane Stange, Lily Stange, Step-Granddaughters; Aurora (Tate) Wallman, Ayreal Keppler, and Jasmine Erbes; his 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Luella (Jim) Lupkes; his brother, Arlo Stange; his sister-in-law, Vicki Stange; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arno and Dorothy Stange; his brother, Gerald “Jerry” Stange; his sister-in-law, Angela Stange; and his nephew, Scott Stange.
