Glen Lund

Glen Lund, 80, Dwight, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 30, at 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Dwight, ND with Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Dwight, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Glen was born on January 21, 1935 in Breckenridge, MN to Alvin C. and Annie (Anderson) Lund. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, ND where he was a lifelong member. He attended school in Dwight and then joined the National Guard where he was called up to active duty with the US Army and was stationed in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in 1957.

Glen was united in marriage to LuAnna Retzer on June 30, 1967 at Faith Lutheran Church. He was proud to own his grandparent's farm, where they farmed and raised their daughter, Tanya. When Glen retired from farming he continued to live on the Centennial Farm and also worked for Minn-Dak Coop for several years.

Glen served on the Faith Lutheran Cemetery Board and also was a member of the Eagles. Glen was a man with a great memory and was a very good source for Richland County history. He also enjoyed reading and visiting with everyone. He especially loved his grandchildren and they enjoyed many games of Old Maid and checkers. Glen was a strong willed man, had an infectious laugh, and will leave a large empty space in our hearts. Gone but not forgotten.

Glen is survived by his wife, LuAnna Lund; his daughter, Tanya (Greg) Alexander, West Fargo, ND and their children Makenna and Jackson; his brother, Alvin Lund Jr., Dwight, ND; his sister, Connie Johnson, Burlington, WI, his sister-in-law, Shirley Lund, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Annie Lund, his granddaughter, Morgan Alexander, his brothers, Merlin and Elwood Lund, and his sister, Shirley Smith.
