Gary
was born June 2, 1943 in Wahpeton, ND, the son of Harold and Lyla (Wyborny) Mayer. He grew up in Wahpeton, attended
St. John’s
Catholic
School
and graduated from
Wahpeton
High School
in 1961. He attended NDSCS where he was enrolled in Pre-Engineering. He married Viola Wegener on January 8, 1965, at
St. John’s
Catholic Church, Wahpeton.
Gary
started work in the lumber yard industry where he was employed by Lambert’s Lumber, UBC and Probuild, retiring in December of 2009.
Gary
was an avid history buff of World War II, especially with the different types of aircraft used during the war. He also was very familiar with the various train models operated during the development of the
United States
.
Gary
is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Tim) Tveter,
